Because of the vibrant colors of the veins that run through each egg-shaped leaf, the Fittonia plant is also known as Mosaic Plant or Nerve Plant. Traditional kinds feature white veins, but many modern cultivars offer a variety of colors to choose from.

Remember that these plants grow natively on the forest floor in the South American tropics. Therefore they like low illumination.

Because the nerve plant is native to the tropics, it thrives in high humidity environments. To maintain humid-like conditions, misting may be necessary.
Fittonia nerve plant prefers well-drained moist soil that is not very damp. Water sparingly and allow developing nerve plants to dry between waterings. To prevent shock, irrigate the plant with room temperature water.

Nerve plant issues are uncommon; nevertheless, as previously said, avoid overwatering as this might cause root rot. The plant may also be affected by Xanthomonas leaf spot, which causes necropsy of the veins, and mosaic virus. Aphids, mealybugs, and thrips are examples of pests.
